Copernicani

Copernicani is an independent, cross-party advocacy group engaged on promoting innovation.  Established as a non-profit association in 2018 with the first digital notarial deed in Italy, Copernicani aims to play a pivotal role in accompanying Italy to “think digital” in societal, political, economical issues. 

Copernicani is formed by a network of minds having different backgrounds, experiences and generations, united by a positive vision of the future that overcomes the regret of an idealized past and driven by the conviction that science and technology are challenges that, if neglected, turn into problems. Our slogan is “In love with the future” because we are convinced that the future is there to be improved. 

Copernicani’s civic tech endeavour ranges from budget.g0v.it, a visual and interactive representation of Italian public spending, to the International Forum on Digital and Democracy, a meeting place between politicians and academics to gain a better understanding and favour a shared view on how to address the challenges posed by digital technologies to democratic institutions.
